About the Trainer
Stephanie Frost, has been with Countryside since 2004, she joined our dog behavior training team in 2008. Stephanie first became interested in behavior training 7 years ago when she adopted Jack Daniels, her Jack Russell Terrier. Jack had a behavior issue where he was reactive to other dogs, and Stephanie knew she needed to learn how to appropriately manage Jack’s behavior. Her research into canine behavior helped her manage Jack’s issues, and sparked her interest in learning more about dog behavior training. Stephanie started as a training assistant, and has become a full behavior trainer.
Stephanie began her work with animals at the University of Massachusetts, Amherst as an Animal Science major. She has worked with many species of animals during her career. In addition to domestic pets and livestock, Stephanie spent two summers as an intern at the New England Aquarium in the Rescue and Rehabilitation department where she raised orphaned or injured harbor, grey and hooded seals to be released back into the wild. She also completed an internship in the aquarium’s Veterinary Services department, where she worked with a variety of fish, reptile, marine mammal and avian species. Stephanie also owns a number of pet rats where she has used her animal behavior knowledge to teach them a variety of tricks. Stephanie is an active member of the Association of Pet Dog Trainers (APDT).

Training Philosophy
At Countryside we believe in a gentle, caring approach to dog behavior training. In our
classes, our instructor uses positive reinforcement in the form of treats and praise to
teach the fundamentals of obedience to your dog of any age. Behavior training is a
process that should start when the dog arrives home and should continue through its
lifetime. It is essential to condition your dog to the rules and boundaries of your home
and family life and that begins with training the owners of the dog. Dog owners have
an obligation to be responsible for their dog's behavior and well-being. At Countryside,
we help owners to learn the necessary skills to teach their dogs to be Canine Good
Citizens. Our methods promote a positive bond between the family members and the
dog. We believe that puppies should begin their training as early as possible and old
dogs can learn new commands. Our trainers create a positive example for both you and your dog with their passion for teaching.
There are many training programs available, and many different methods. We offer a method we feel educates the owner as well as the pet while providing a solid foundation for a happy, healthy relationship throughout your dog's lifetime.
